From Saumur to Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, we enter the small appellation area of Saumur Champigny : a rich and balanced wine, with fresh notes of red fruits. After a stroll through the different areas, the tasting is essential!
The cooperative cellar Robert and Marcel, in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, offers a wide selection of wines from Saumur (and from our neighbors in Indre-et-Loire).
Heritage idea: Le Brézé castle and its "castle under the castle". Impressive !
To the south, the furnished château of Montreuil-Bellay and its fortified city center are well worth a break! The road then takes us towards the area of Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame, the youngest appellation in the region. Its full-bodied and harmonious red wine leaves tasty aromas of black fruits in the mouth.
Heritage idea: La collegiate church of Puy-Notre-Dame, an immense and majestic Gothic building which has dominated the village since the 13th century.
Heading south west, the kingdom of Layon opens up to you.
Rich in numerous grape varieties and appellations, the Layon valley is nevertheless famous for its sweet wine with a golden hue. Here the king is the Layon hillside that we savor for special occasions. (This walk is one of them, right?)

It's time to reach the banks of the Loire along the Milly forest to Gennes and its emblematic suspension bridge. Then going up the river to Saumur, the houses of Fines Bulles follow one another in Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent. Let him Crémant de Loire and Saumur Brut transmit their excitement to you!

After the town of Saumur, the vineyard continues… Perched above the hillside, in Parnay and Turquant in particular, the vines flourish on tufa mounds.
It is the ideal terrain for the Chenin grape variety, the letters of nobility of our white wine. Soft for Saumur hillside or more mineral and deliciously floral for White Saumur, it’s yet another taste adventure…
