Historic site and monument

Collegiate Church of Puy-Notre-Dame

Majestic Gothic building built on top of a limestone hill culminating at 106 meters. The sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin welcomes pilgrims who come to venerate the "Holy Belt", a relic brought back from the Crusades by the Dukes of Aquitaine.

Beautiful stalls from the XNUMXth century can be seen in the choir.

This building, built in one go in the first half of the XNUMXth century, has an Angevin vault and three naves of the same height, very slender, as in the cathedral of Poitiers. Note its beautiful XNUMXth century stalls, as well as the painting of the Assumption painted by Jean Boucher in the XNUMXth century.
