In May, the inauguration of the 260 km of the European Route from Artagnan to Anjou will take place. Three days of festivities accessible to all at three sites located along the route in Anjou, ending in Saumur Val de Loire May the 11 2024 in the courtyard of the emblematic Saumur castle.

In an underground room of the Château de Saumur, hides the study of a collector passionate about the history of the musketeers. Every day, he goes to this casemate to study the objects in his collection, in particular treasures that belonged to the famous d'Artagnan. He stores his most precious possessions in a chest closed with 12 padlocks, the secrets of which only he knows.
However, this place is in great danger! Following a storm, water seeps into the room and threatens to flood it. Time is running out and the collector must urgently move his precious treasures from the chest! But, in the panic, the latter no longer remembers the location of the 12 keys allowing it to open...
You have 1 hour to help him find them before the Musketeers' treasure is lost forever!

Equestrian routes and circuits in Saumur Val de LoireThe European Route d'Artagnan has been a "Cultural Route of the Council of Europe" since 2021. It is the first European cultural equestrian route which connects Lupiac (1 - Gers), birthplace of the famous musketeer d'Artagnan, to Maastricht (Netherlands) where the latter died. Made up of six thematic routes, it crosses six European countries. Ultimately, more than 32 marked km will be open to riders, hikers and travelers of all disciplines across Europe.
In Saumur Val de Loire, the Route des Cardinalaux and the Route de Pinerolo are unified, allowing riders and epicureans to discover the emblematic places of the destination over approximately 80 km: Fontevraud-l'Abbaye, Montsoreau, Turquant, Parnay, Souzay- Champigny, Saumur, Chênehutte-Trèves-Cunault, Gennes and even Le Thoureil. Enjoy a magnificent panorama and a unique experience by crossing the courtyard of the Château de Saumur, a historic highlight of the two routes and take the time to discover the Horse Museum within the Château de Saumur itself. The Route des Cardinalaux joins Paris at Lupiac, following in the footsteps of Richelieu and Mazarin. The Route de Pinerolo connects Nantes to Pinerolo following the route taken during the transfer of Nicolas Fouquet, who was arrested by d'Artagnan in Nantes. These 2 routes will allow you to enjoy the different riches of the places: troglodyte sites, castles, vineyards, banks of the Loire, forests, rivers, countryside, city, and much more.
