Since 1962, the Clos de l'Abbaye estate has covered an area of 40 hectares. The estate is part of the vineyards classified as Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée for Saumur wines.
The Clos de l'Abbaye estate is located in Puy-notre-Dame between Montreuil-Bellay and Doué-en-Anjou. The owners keep their wines in cellars dug into the 8th century freestone. There is a constant temperature in all seasons (9 to XNUMX°C).
Underground galleries extend over ten kilometers where button mushrooms were cultivated. Discover the Saumur red, which is remarkably delicious and fruity in its youth, its fine and discreet tannins can allow it to wait in the cellar for three to ten years depending on the vintage. Finally, Saumur brut is a wine made using the traditional method and is very pleasant with its delicate bubbles.
They will be delighted to make you taste these wines and show you around the magnificent tufa cellar.
