Modern art at Fontevraud Abbey

Since 2021, the Royal Abbey has housed the Museum of Modern Art, born from the Collection of the Cligman spouses. Nearly 900 works (paintings, drawings, sculptures, glassware and antique objects) to discover Modern Art and marvel at creations by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Edgar Degas and Maurice de Vlaminck.

Eclectic galleries across the destination

In Brain-sur-Allonnes, the Causeway Castle welcomes the Christine Deom gallery where the exhibitions take place directly in the rooms of the castle. In the city center of Saumur, push the doors of the Spirit Lacquer Gallery to understand the art of French lacquerers with one of its best representatives, Thibaud Mazire. Continue with the Toulouse Lauwers Gallery, where a strong emotional selection of works by national and international painters and sculptors awaits you.
