1st winner of the Ackerman + Fontevraud Residence, Julien Salaud was able to conquer the public with his ephemeral work “Fleuve Céleste” (2015-2017).
In 2018, a permanent gallery is dedicated to this artist of great human generosity. Like a lace, light and fragile which hugs the vault and the tuffeau walls, his new creation entitled “Ecologia Naturotica” is a spectacular and dreamlike canvas dedicated to nature. A unique work, specific to Julien Salaud, composed of 20 kilometers of stretched white cotton thread
on more than 17 nails and highlighted by effects of light.
This year, five years after the installation of this work subjected to the extreme conditions of this atypical exhibition venue, Julien Salaud returns to the Ackerman cellars to give life to a new symbolic creation. Like Land Art, the artist uses the uniqueness of troglodyte cellars to display a fresco even more impressive than the previous ones. Through his constellation of cotton threads, he draws a gigantic fantastic bestiary and invites visitors who venture into this cavity to a privileged immersive experience within this gigantic phantasmagorical ballet.
With Ecologia Naturotica #2, Julien Salaud continues the story started five years earlier, around the sensual relationship with the environment:
“If new figures will mingle body to body with the rock walls of the gallery, the objective of my work remains unchanged: to renew the sentimental links between humans and nature... because, with a flowery heart, nothing is impossible ! » explains the artist.
