To mark the 900th anniversary of the birth of Eleanor of Aquitaine, the Royal Fortress of Chinon recreates the atmosphere of a 12th century royal kitchen.
In the center of the room, tables host an accumulation of utilitarian culinary ceramics: jugs, glazed pitchers, decorated bowls and other cups. A few luxurious objects bring the royal dimension, such as a terracotta gourd of Syrian origin. Fake foods bring this composition to life and allow you to imagine that the Queen of England's clerks have just left the kitchen.
