By foot

In the Saumur Val de Loire Agglomeration Community, the municipalities are developing meeting areas, areas 30 to promote the safety of pedestrians and to make strolling in the city center pleasant. This road sharing promotes the practice of daily walking which should develop if we consider its direct and immediate benefits: health, economy, environment, simplicity and speed!

Walking: the right reflex to adopt

Walking can be practiced at any age, without specific equipment. This economical mode of transport is naturally also ecological: it produces no noise pollution or pollution in the city.

In France, a quarter of trips are less than one kilometer.
Do 500 meters on foot takes 8 minutes, the time it often takes to find a parking space!
In town, each kilometer covered on foot can save 280g of CO2 and even more on short journeys.

By bike

There are plenty of good reasons to cycle on holiday:

• It is good for the planet (we do not emit GHGs, and we reduce our waste, because by bike, we only take what is strictly necessary)
• It is good for health : cycling allows you to practice a sporting activity while enjoying magnificent landscapes. By bike, we take the time to discover or rediscover at our own pace and from another angle the natural and cultural gems of our beautiful region. Even with an electric bike you develop endurance, you maintain your cardio, you can if you wish increase the difficulty and fully strengthen your muscles and all this in a fun way!
• It is federator : it is an accessible sport that does not require ultra-sophisticated equipment. Almost anyone can do it!

Public transport

- Ogalo is a set of services dedicated to mobility in the Saumur Val Loire conurbation. Ogalo Bus offers a set of regular lines serving Saumur and its surroundings. In season, 3 tourist lines additional links connect the main sites for visiting the surrounding area from Saumur.

Public transport networks allow you to move around Saumur, and travel in the region: by bus, coach or train:
- Aleop, the Pays de la Loire transport network: lines of bus and train-TER
- Train Loire by Bike : from June to September, TER Interloire services (Orléans - Nantes - Le Croisic) allow you to travel with your bike without reservation, subject to availability.

Carpooling

Several carpooling platforms exist to connect drivers and passengers on the same journey:

In order to facilitate the organization of journeys, carpooling areas make it possible to establish specific meeting places for carpoolers. There are several carpooling areas (municipal or departmental) on the territory of Saumur Val de Loire including:

• La Ronde, Vivy (38 spaces and 1 disabled person)
• Le Breil, Saumur
• La Saulaie, Doué-en-Anjou (20 spaces)
• Louresse-Rochemenier (20 spaces)
• Montreuil-Bellay (20 spaces)
• La Chaussée, Brain sur Allonnes (8 spaces)
• Grézillon, Longué-Jumelles (55 places and 2 persons with reduced mobility)

To encourage the practice of carpooling on a daily basis, the Pays de la Loire Region, with its network Aleop, contributes to home-to-work carpooling costs via the apps BlaBla Car Daily, Karos, Klaxit et Mobicoop.

By electric car

Many charging points for electric vehicles exist on the territory of the Community of Agglomeration of Saumur Val de Loire. Consult the list of terminals

In Saumur only : Users in possession of an electric vehicle can benefit from a sticker (according to conditions, and on request at the reception of the town hall of Saumur or the Municipal Police) allowing them to park for free, with a parking time control disc, throughout the City of Saumur on paid parking spaces excluding enclosed and underground car parks equipped with barriers.
