The wine and mushroom hike combines the discovery of the Saumur vineyards with the search for edible wild mushrooms. Saumurois is a wine region renowned for its sparkling and still wines, notably Saumur-Champigny, a renowned red wine.
During this hike, participants set out through the vineyards, forests and fields of the region, in search of mushrooms such as porcini mushrooms, chanterelles, chanterelles, and other edible varieties. This combination of hiking and mushroom picking allows you to enjoy nature and local gastronomy at the same time.
In addition to mushroom picking, this hike also includes local wine tastings at the region's cellars and wineries, providing a unique opportunity to discover the wine culture of Saumur while exploring the surrounding nature.
