The royal abbey of Fontevraud, an emblematic historic site of the XNUMXth century, often serves as a unique setting for artistic performances. The majestic architecture of the Abbey, with its indoor and outdoor spaces, adds a special dimension to the events, creating a magical atmosphere for participants and spectators.
An immersive experience
After two first seasons dedicated to the founding of the Abbey then to the abbesses, the third edition highlighted the prison history of Fontevraud. This new route thus revealed the transformation of the royal Abbey into a prison house but also the restorations carried out by Lucien Magne from 1902 to restore the monument to its former character, as it was when it was founded in 1101.

The Les Etoiles de Fontevraud event attracts a varied public, from art and culture enthusiasts to families looking for enriching cultural activities during the summer period.
As part of the entry ticket for the Étoiles de Fontevraud, a glass of Saumur is offered to you at the end of the course, in partnership with Bouvet Ladubay Brut de Loire.
