From Baugé to Saumur - 48,3 KmLa Vélobuissonnière invites you to pedal for 250 km. It connects Alençon to Saumur, via Le Mans and La Flèche. Between Normandy and the Châteaux de la Loire, via the Sarthe Valley and the Loir Valley, this route offers you a very diversified architectural and landscape heritage. Also take advantage of the connection of this route to the Véloscénie, to the north, and to La Loire à Vélo and the Vélo Francette, to the south. Great discoveries in perspective! Good road !

An adventure in the heart of landscapes full of charm: valleys of the Alpes Mancelles, intimate rivers of the Sarthe or the Loir and small villages of character...
Along the way, explore an unusual and historical heritage, from the half-timbered houses of the Cité Plantagenêt in Le Mans to the esplanade of the Château de Saumur without forgetting Alençon and its lace, the apothecary of Baugé or the earthenware workshops of Malicorne .
La Vélobuissonniere follows an old rehabilitated railway line. You will walk on this greenway to the level of Cuon, a charming rural village with pretty manors and farmhouses. It is also a very pleasant picnic stop.
After Cuon, you will continue on the split road towards The Lande-Chasles in a wooded environment. The route passes through a place called "La Picotière": a stop is a must at the Chèvrerie Ory, open all year round! Discovery of the breeding, the cheese dairy and the fresh produce shop...
You will then walk towards the town of Jumelles, then the town center of Longué. Make a slight detour to visit the Hydrocraft, a superbly restored 18th century watermill. Then discover, on the course, the "promenade of the washhouses", along the Lathan.
Your route will continue in the Authion valley, a rich and fertile market gardening, horticultural and seed producing valley.
Pleasant wooded road that will take you to the lake of Les Monteaux, located in the town of Vivy: ideal place for bird watching, fishing pond, fitness trail, children's games, sheltered areas for a picnic break. If you were planning a break, it's ideal!
A stone's throw away, you will cross the Authion at the level of the Gué d'Arcy: note the charming bridge which spans this tributary of the Loire.
Then you will start the last kilometers towards Saumur, the "Pearl of Anjou"! Take advantage of its charm, its many sites to visit, its know-how, lose yourself in the pedestrian streets, embark on a toue cabanée and... find out at the Tourist Office about the many festivities that enliven the city all year round...
In summer, at the end of the stage, maybe a swim will be welcome? A leisure center located on the island of Millocheau, in Saumur, between the train station and the old town centre, is open and free every day: picnic area, children's games and supervised swimming in July and August. Also at your disposal: 4 individual bike boxes (bring a padlock to close the box.)
