The medieval castle and the Renaissance outbuildings have been restored and fitted out to bring it back to life. Around the castle, the 15 gardens classified as “Remarkable Gardens” complete your escape into wonder. These 15 gardens have been designed and labeled Remarkable Garden, National Collection of Scented Rose Bushes and Conservatory of Ancient Vegetables (Ecocert-certified vegetable garden). They are part of the network of 17 “Most Beautiful Gardens in France”
In the stables classified as a “Historic Monument”, audiovisual projections invite you to relive a rich equestrian past.

The Château du Rivau is committed to promoting cultural heritage (Château-Garden) with a view to sustainable development. 4 pillars come together in this approach.

An Environmental Pillar
BIO by Ecocert labels our vegetable garden. Our own organic farm and local producers and if possible ORGANIC supply our restaurant. We pay attention to waste management, selective sorting, composting, limitation of product packaging. For gardening, we also practice water management and the use of ecological products. We practice manual and mechanical weeding as well as the recycling of bulbs by encouraging biodiversity.
In addition, we want to make visitors aware of native species using educational tools. For example, the creation of thematic visits on the environment for schoolchildren (primary-college-high school) and for individuals (children – families – adults). The Château du Rivau is also part of the perimeter of the Anjou Touraine Regional Park. To promote soft itineraries, we have the Accueil Velo label for both the tourist site and the hotel.
We insulate the buildings and the electricity consumption is limited (LED – geothermal energy).
We highlight local products and producers in the Rivau restaurant and shop (wine tourism label – Rivau and Lémeré vegetables, Locavore restaurant). In addition, we establish a partnership with local agricultural producers and tourism players. In this context, the Ferme du Rivau is committed to the approach of local producers, restaurants and artisans in the Center region: © du Centre.
